Scrappin' With Aymee

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend! Aymee and I have been scrapbooking. I wanted to share with you the things I have finished.

"Loves Chocolate A Latte' "
This layout is for 2 challenges on Treasured Scrapbooking: LJ's Ice Cream Challenge and Karen's Chocolate Challenge. I used Doodlecharms for the ice cream cone and Lyrical Letters for the title/cherries. I used the Cuttlebug D'vine Swirl and Argyle folder on my ice cream cone. I added Stickles and Glossy Accents. Here it is:

"Sunkissed Sweeties"

These pictures were taken of Ron and I with our closest friends at the beach a few weeks ago. This layout is for Jenn's 'Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weenie' challenge and Abbie's Recipe Challenge. I used Lyrical Letters for the flowers, title, bathing suit, umbrella, and brackets. I sitckled the flowers, bathing suit, and Umbrella. I also used the Fiskars Apron Lace border punch. This paper is by My Mind's Eye.

"A Berry Merry Christmas"

This layout is for Amanda's 'Christmas In July' challenge, Ginger's 'Ruby Red' challenge, and Aymee's 'July Sketch' on Treasured Scrapbooking. It is also for the Ziggy's 'Red' challenge on Just Scrappin'. I used Wild Card for the flowers, shaped frame, and 'chocolate' on the strawberry. I used Lyrical Letters for the title. The strawberry and vine is from Happily Ever After. The strawberry cap is from Accent Essentials. I used several different cuts from various cartridges to make my own strawberry. I also embossed the strawberry with Swiss Dots and D'Vine Swirl. I added Glossy Accents to the swirls on the chocolate. I also incorporated some green ribbon for my 'stem' on the strawberry.

Family Time

Hey Everyone,

Aymee is coming today for a visit. I am so excited! While she is here, we hope to get a ton of scrappy work completed as well as share some quality family time. I don't have any new work completed, but I hope to have some soon. I hope the rest of your week goes smoothly.

Summer Time

TS has some fabulous challenges this month. Please stop by for a look at the work of many talented scrappers.

This first layout combines 2 challenges.
Debbie's Red/White/Blue challenge is using these colors without tying them to the 4th of July.
Pinky's Thank Heavens for the Sewing Machine challenge is in honor of - you guessed it - the sewing machine. She asked us to include sewing or fabric somewhere on our layout.
I cut the star and "a splash of" from the Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cart. The word "summer" was cut using the Lyrical Letters cart. I also used a star border punch on the red strip of paper, some red ribbon to help frame out the photo, star buttons tied with jute, and zigzag stitching around the edge of the star. Don't you just love this balancing act to wash the grass off his feet?!? He is so funny and smart. Carter had a great time "splashing" around in the water.

This layout completes Aymee's "Life's a Bowl of Blueberries" Challenge. All Aymee asked of us was to use the color blue and a circle or circles. Now, how easy is that! My background paper has the circle shape repeated in many ways and is primarily blue. Also, Carter's plate and the bowl on his head (which was the hard-hat he needed for his job he said.) are circular shape. I used the Home Decor Cricut cart to cut these stars. Then, I used blue distressing ink on the edges of the off-white matting and journaling box before attaching them to the stars. I also used popdots on the largest star which is at the bottom of the page for some added dimension and interest.

Another New Scrapper

Here is another new talented scrapper. I really enjoyed getting to know this intelligent, outgoing, etc... young lady today. As you will see, she also created some gorgeous layouts!


This layout is of her and her Homecoming escort. He is also a former student!

This pic shows a very beautiful layout!!!! She used the Storybook cart to cut the flowers, title. and the butterfly. She also added some rhinestones to some of the flower centers and some Fruit Punch Stickles to the butterfly wings.

A New Scrapper

Good Evening All,

I had a fabulous day! A former student and friend visited me today to learn a little about creating layouts. As you will see, they did an excellent job! I am so proud of them.

I was very blessed to have had the opportunity to be this young lady's teacher last year. She is a very intelligent, outgoing, dependable, etc.... individual. Also, as you will notice, she is creative and crafty.

In this pic, she is showcasing the layout she made about dance lessons. She cut out the ballet shoes (upper left-hand corner) using PDDU and then used ribbon at the top to represent the laces. She also found some blue ribbon that resembled the feathers on the hats in the pics and adhered it to the title strip. Then, she used a journaling card to tell her story about those beautiful photos.

Open Wide!

Yah!!!! I finally finished a layout this month. This layout features none other than my grandson, Carter. This picture was taken at an amusement park when he was at the beach in Gulf Shores. My grandson really enjoys life. He has a good time at whatever he does. As you can tell, this is another example of him "finding" something to do.

The paper I used is textured and has some glitter on it.
I used the Accent Essentials Cricut Cartridge to cut the circles (scallop and plain).
Life's A Beach was used to cut the bamboo (pop dots were used to give it additional dimension).
Lyrical Letters was used to cut the title.
I also used ribbon for grass at the bottom and around the circle.

Just "Beachy"

I'm a little sunburned, but other than that our trip to Panama City Beach was absolutely awesome! We spent our days relaxing at the beach with our friends and our evenings shopping at Pier Park, eating at some of the most mouth-watering restaurants, listening to very talented musicians, and strolling the beach.

I'll post some pics/layouts of our trip soon.

On The Waterfront

I completed this layout last night for challenges on 2 boards; Treasured Scrapbooking and Just Scrappin' (TS & JS).

I am hosting a black/white challenge on JS, so this layout is for that challenge. I used all black and white paper as well as black/white photos. The only other colors you see are from embellishments/lettering (the sun and the title). For the sun, I used chipboard and covered it with tissue paper. Then, I used 2 different colors/textures of ribbon for the sun's rays. The title was cut using the Cricut Printing Press cart.
It also completes the requirements for Kerri's Molecular Formula (H2O) challenge which required something pertaining to water be used in a layout.

At TS, this layout is for 2 challenges:
Abbie's Progression Challenge - For her challenge, I had to use pics to show progression. These photos are of Carter turning on the sprinklers, watering my gladiolas, and then running through the water.
Jenn's Summer Fashion Challenge - This challenge is about how fashion trends can be used/seen in scrapping. She provided us with fashion pics, and we were to use them for our inspiration. This summer's hottest fashion styles are the use of lots of color as well as black/white, vivid patterns (stripes, circular, etc..), large jewelry (dangle earrings, large bracelets, etc...), ribbons, scarves, bows, - So, the use of black and white as well as the stripes and dots, large/circular/ colorful sun with rays of ribbon, etc ...

I have several more challenges to complete, so I am off to enjoy some quality alone time to scrap. It is such a wonderful de-stressor!

Appetizer Recipe Cards

Good Evening All,

I am hosting an Appetizer Recipe Swap over at JS. Also, this weekend we are having an online crop there as well. So, I decided to use this swap as a chance to challenge my scrappin' buddies to work on their cards. I have completed 12 cards thus far. The recipe I chose to share is for Chocolate Chip Dip. Now, if you have never tried this be forewarned, it is extremely yummy and addictive.

I designed 2 different cards.

For the first one, I printed out the recipe on red cardstock and attached it to a 6x6 card base.
Then, I cut out the canopy/awning using the My Community Cricut Cart.
Next I used my new Lyrical Letters cart for the "bakery" phrase. (I highly recommend this one for lettering)
Then I used the Paper Doll Dress Up cart to cut out the apron. I used my new "worn lipstick' shade distressing ink by Tim Holtz on the apron edges and attached the ribbon at the waist.
Finally, I stamped the chocolate chip cookie on the recipe and the "made especially for you" tag on the back which has my scrapping name - southernbellesmom

Now for the second design. First, I printed the recipe onto beige colored cardstock.
Then I used my new Swiss Cheese Border Punch on the sides. I also used my brown distressing ink on the edges.
Next, I attached the recipe to a piece of brown cardstock and rounded the corners.
Then, I attached it to my 6x6 card base. The base has neat little baking/cooking phrases printed in various fonts. So cute!!!!
Finally, I used some brown rafia on the top of the brown to add a little more color/interest. I also stamped my tag on the back of this one. I really wish I still had some of those cute little Hershey's Kisses stickers I got while visiting that scrumptious place, but I have already used them. I think that would've looked great on the upper right hand corner of the recipe. Who knows, I may hand cut my own for these cards. If I do, I will take pics and add them to my blog. Just Playin' in Water

I haven't scrapped any since I got back home. I have been playing with Carter. Here are some pics of him playing in water on a very hot afternoon (last Thursday).

He likes to turn the water on by himself.
